As members of the National Automotive Radiator Service (NARSA);
you can always expect the best from us.
Family owned and operated with over 40 years experience in the radiator industry, Ralph’s Radiators specializes in the sale and service of radiators, and radiator components for cars, trucks, generators, forklifts and heavy equipment. We have a large inventory that allows us to quickly offer our customers the solution to their cooling problems. We make retail and wholesale sales at reasonable prices and have a staff willing to help our customers with all their needs.
At Ralph’s Radiators we understand the importance of minimizing downtime, especially with commercial vehicles and equipment. We offer a fast turnaround service on any size radiator including cars, trucks, forklifts, heavy duty machinery, commercial and Industrial radiators.
Our car radiator experts will assess the condition of your car’s radiator and cooling system. Sometimes all a radiator needs is a good clean out to restore your vehicle’s cooling performance.
If any issues are diagnosed, we’ll determine whether your car’s radiator needs replacing or repairing before work commences on it. We offer free cooling system checks and our parts and workmanship are covered by a warranty.
Due to the important role they play as an emergency ‘back up’ electrical supply, our technicians can visit your location to inspect the radiator to see if the radiator can be repaired or must be replaced. Whenever possible, repairs can be done “on site”. If the radiator core has to be replaced the work can be scheduled for a time that will minimize any disruption (including after 5 weekdays and also during weekends).
If your radiator tank has a small leak, you may be wondering if it is possible to repair it. After all, there is high-pressure, high-temperature fluid in the radiator tank. You may ask yourself, “How can a radiator epoxy adhesive possibly hold up under those conditions?” The answer is that it probably can’t. It may fix the radiator leak temporarily, but over time, the radiator adhesive will, more than likely, come off.
Ralph’s Radiators can repair most copper and aluminum radiators. We can also repair or replace brass tanks and replace plastic tanks from one of the largest inventories in the Bahamas.
Aluminum or copper cores with plastic tanks are the majority of radiators supplied in modern motor vehicles. Today’s emission standards require higher engine temperatures which increase radiator contraction and expansion. These factors can lead to failures, causing costly engine or transmission damage.
The radiator needs to be removed from the vehicle for this exercise. The inlet tank (also called the “top” tank) is disassembled from the radiator core and each individual tube in the core is cleared of blockages to ensure complete flow across the whole radiator.
The inlet tank is then replaced, and pressure tested for leaks. This process will bring the radiator back to an optimal performance level.
We have been manufacturers of quality brass and copper radiators for over 30 years and are experts.
As a leading radiator manufacturer in the Bahamas, Ralph’s supplies all types of radiators. Whether it is a radiator for a motorcycle or a generator or large truck, we can build it.
Our radiators are manufactured with the highest quality brass and copper materials and are backed by a 2-year warranty.
Many radiators can have the core replaced. This is required when the core is leaking badly, too damaged to be repaired, fins are corroded, or the header plate is cracked or damaged.
We have the machinery to manufacture copper and brass radiator cores. The radiator cores are made to measure and with the specifications of our clients.
Core Height: It is the dimension determined by the length of the tube (from plate to plate). In the image, see reference (A).
Core Width: It is the dimension determined by measuring between the sides (to the sides of the core). Keep in mind that only the core is measured, not the sides. In the reference image (B).
Core Thickness: Carefully insert a piece of wire through the core, all the way to the other side of the core, and mark it. Withdraw it slowly, and measure the depth obtained. In the reference image (C).
Header Length: It is the dimension determined by measuring the length of the plate. In the image, see reference (D).
Header Width: It is the dimension determined by measuring the sides of the plate. In the reference image (E).
We repair a wide range of oil coolers for heavy equipment and for industrial applications.
Q. The top plastic part of my radiator (the tank) is cracked and leaking. Can you repair this?
A. Plastic tanks usually last between 7 and 10 years, depending on frequency of use. They crack because the plastic has become old and brittle and hence cannot be repaired. However we can certainly help you with a tank replacement if your core is in good condition, or a new radiator.
Q. How long does it take to replace my radiator?
The time it takes will depend on the model of your car and difficulty of removal and installation. Generally, we need your car for around 2 hours.
Q. How do I get a quote for a re-core?
It is best to send us a photo of your radiator and measure just the core (not including the sidebands or top and bottom tanks).
